Nota en inglés -------------- Attorneys for Alex Rodriguez are in discussions with federal authorities to pick a date for the Yankees superstar to speak with investigators about Canadian doctor Tony Galea. Rodriguez told reporters Wednesday morning that he hopes to know "sooner than later" about his date with the feds, though he reiterated his lack of concern over the matter. "We have a good, healthy attitude about this so we're going to tackle it," Rodriguez said. "The key thing to remember is that this is an investigation about someone else. I'm here to cooperate." Rodriguez isn't the only baseball player involved in the investigation, as Mets stars Jose Reyes and Carlos Beltran have already met with the feds, while Rockies pitcher Huston Street appears to be next on the list. "I'm not frustrated," Rodriguez said. "Again, it's not about me. I'm just looking to help and get my work in." Rodriguez was unsure whether his meeting with investigators would take place in Tampa or elsewhere. The Yankees have a day off on Monday, though the meeting could also take place on a game day. "The idea is to schedule something that allows me to cooperate and also get my work in," he said. "Obviously, doing it here would be fantastic." Galea was arrested by Canadian authorities in October after human growth hormone and other drugs were found in the car of his assistant, Mary Anne Catalano, during a border traffic stop near Buffalo in September. He faces four drug-related charges in Toronto and is also at the center of a U.S. drug investigation conducted by the FBI and other federal agencies. Galea told the Associated Press this week that he treated Rodriguez last year during his rehab from hip surgery, prescribing anti-inflammatories for the third baseman. Rodriguez's rehab was being handled by Dr. Mark Lindsay, a chiropractor recommended by Dr. Marc Philippon, who performed the surgery. Lindsay and Galea were partners in a clinic in Canada. |
